SACK BACKS: The sack back chair is a very popular traditional design dating back to
the Revolutionary War. Our chairs have handshaped bows and spindles, saddled pine seats,
and vase and ball turnings on the legs and arm supports. They have a back height of 40" and a
seat width of 26".
CONTINUOUS ARM CHAIR: This chair is named for the single continuous piece of
ash which forms the back and arms. Our design has a comfortably shaped, slightly saddled seat
for enjoyable sitting over long periods of time.
LOOP BACK CHAIRS: This is the most common style of Windsor side chair surviving from the past. Our loops have graceful, tapered ash bows which are shaped with a draw knife and spokeshave and steam bent. Maple legs have the traditional ball and vase turnings.
HUMP BACK CHAIRS: This chair is an adaptation of a Sheraton style piece.
The legs and spindles have "bamboo" turnings which were popular in the seaports of the l800's.
Back height of the arm chair is 42", side chair is 37".
COUNTRY CRESTED CHAIRS: Our version of a country crested Windsor has been photographed by House Beautiful. This simple, elegant chair complements both traditional and contemporary decor. Side chairs can be made with lower crests or as the simple fan back.
